Our Group Runs Are Back!
Belmont Runners will be resuming its activities in accordance with San Mateo County’s June 17th public health guidelines. Our club will comply with all requirements and recommendations to keep our members and the general public safe. This includes the following guidelines for our group runs:
- Runners will maintain at least a six-foot social distance from other runners who are not part of the same household, more where possible
- Runners must bring a face covering and use it when passing non-club members within six feet
- Runners will try to maintain extra distance (10+ feet) in front of or behind another runner who is not in the same household
- Runners will cross the street where possible to avoid sidewalks with pedestrians
- Runners will slow down and move to the side when unable to leave the sidewalk and nearing other people
- Runners should cover coughs and sneezes from going airborne
- Runners will not spit or blow noses
- Runners who show any signs of symptoms or know that they were potentially exposed to Coronavirus within the last 14 days will refrain from attending group runs
In addition to these rules, we will now carry out our runs with a “staggered start” configuration. Groups will be split up into no more than 10 at a time and leave 5 minutes apart to spread out the group.
Also, due to the “social bubble” restrictions, we will not be officially gathering for post run coffee/bagels for the foreseeable future.
We are committed to ensuring the safety of our runners and the public. We will continue to monitor public health requirements and adjust our practices accordingly.
