Runner of the month: Kira Bartlett

Hi, my name is Kira Bartlett, I live in San Carlos, and I am the runner of the month!

What is your day job?
Project Engineer at InterMountain Electric Company
How long have you been running?
I have been running since last September (at the Giant Race actually, I did the 5k with my family and loved it so much that I have been running ever since)
What are your current running goals?
I am working towards a full marathon next year. My current target is to do the Eugene Marathon at the end of April. My current actual goal is the runDisney Challenge where you run a 10k on Saturday and then a half marathon on Sunday. That will be happening in February.
What is your favorite Bay Area race?
I love the Mermaid Series runs, though those are not just in the bay, but because they are run well, promote women and girls running, and have the best themed shirts.
What are some things that you like to do when you are not running?
I enjoy reading, hiking and camping, yoga, and watching tv and movies.
Where is your favorite place to run?
I love running at Water Dog. It is an amazing piece of nature that makes you feel like you are in a totally different place than a bustling city but is so close and convenient. The hills kick my butt though.
Do you have a special warm-up or power song when running?
I do like upbeat music. On long runs I will actually listen to an audio book though. The songs I am into right now are 3 Nights by Dominic Fike or Low by The Driver Era. Not sure those are power songs, I am just super into them for now.
